At Beaute Sauvage Safaris, we believe that we have a great responsibility in ensuring that tourism is sustained today and for the future generations. Our responsible travel policy outlines some of the measures we take to reduce our negative impacts on the environment, support and protect local communities and give back to the places we travel to.
All our trip leaders and staff are well trained to respect these values.
We aim to create memorable experiences to our visitors, explore the wildlife, get views of breathtaking landscapes and lean our culture in an exciting, safely and responsible way.

1. Respecting destinations and local cultures

Beaute Sauvage Safaris promotes positive and meaningful exchanges between our business, our travellers and the local places we visit. We do this by:

• Respecting different cultures in all destinations we travel to.
• Respecting local religions, religious places and rituals.
• Observing and respecting local customs and etiquette.
• Encouraging local interaction and understanding of the local way of life.
• Emphasizing appropriate dress standards.
• Asking permission before photographing.
• Forbidding the use of illegal drugs on all trips.

2. Preserving the environment

We aim to contribute to the preservation of natural and built environments in the destinations we visit, and to reduce the negative impacts our operations may have on the environment. We do this by reducing carbon emissions in our offices, on our trips and in the destinations we visit. We do this by;

– Providing opportunities for clients to walk and biking tours.
– Ensuring our vehicles/fleets are well maintained and fuel-efficient.
– Encouraging our suppliers to adopt more sustainable practices or choosing suppliers who already have practices in place to minimise their negative environmental and social impacts.
– Observing all national park visitor rules.
– When we visit parks like Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, we pay the porters (support helpers) directly. These are the natives in the community neighboring the park, who help to carry visitors backpacks during the trek. We also encourage all clients to contribute to tips to rangers who are guiding them during the trek. These tokens of appreciation keep on encouraging them to keep away from carrying out or encouraging illegal activities that would otherwise endanger wildlife or destroy the environment.

3. Protecting animals:

We oppose any exploitative or illegal practices that have a negative impact on animal welfare. As a company, we work towards promoting the well being of animals:
– Animal freedom from hunger and thirst.
– Animal freedom from discomfort.
– Animal freedom from pain, injury and disease.
– Animal freedom to express normal behaviour.
– Animal freedom from fear and distress.

We do not promote, visit or participate in any activities that are failing to uphold the above values.

4. Giving back

We support projects that care for the community and environment through donations to the active Organisations. We only work with organizations who can demonstrate: good governance, and who have shown the willingness to measure and evaluate the impact of their programs.
